Dickens British Museum is dedicated to the golden years of the British way of life. It is named after one of the most prolific British writers Charles Dickens and is located in the downtown core of Chilliwack in the beautiful Fraser Valley of British Columbia. Anne and Fred Hails, the owners, have spent many years collecting unique items and memorabilia, which have now grown into four great permanent displays. These displays consist of an affectionate history of Dickens' life, a tribute to Sir Winston Churchill, the sinking of the Titanic and a history of the British Royal Family. If you are familiar with the English TV show Heartbeat you will recognize a full scale Aidensfield Post Office with a British Car Collection to compliment Scripps Garage, this place is huge ! The Museum is accompanied by a traditional British Sweet Shop (the largest and probably the freshest selection outside of Britain), Pickwick's Pie Shop, a British Grocery Shop and Oliver's Tea Room (boasting 91 and counting loose leaf teas to choose from). We have just touched on a a small part of the museum and shops. This is an absolute must see and well worth a visit. Admission is Free, so make it part of your itinerary when visiting the Fraser Valley. The museum may also be visited online at www.dickensbritishmuseu.com
